Knob Creek Releases New Cask Strength Rye Whiskey

In 2018, Knob Creek is pleased to release Knob Creek® Cask Strength Rye Whiskey, a special, limited-edition whiskey that features our biggest and boldest rye liquid yet. Named “Best Rye Whiskey” at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this liquid takes the rich and savory notes of our award-winning Knob Creek® Straight Rye Whiskey to the next level as an extraaged, uncut and unfiltered1 straight rye whiskey.

Patiently aged for 9 years in barrels stored in Warehouse A, the oldest standing rackhouse at our distillery, Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye is an embodiment of the pre-prohibition style that founding distiller Booker Noe set out to create with Knob Creek more than 25 years ago.

Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is the newest expression to join Knob Creek’s award-winning portfolio of rye whiskies. In 2012, the brand helped revive the rye category with the release of Knob Creek Rye, which has since gone on to become an industry favorite, earning prestigious accolades including “World’s Best Rye Whiskey” at the 2016 International Wine & Spirits Competition. Earlier this year, the brand also introduced Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey as an extension of its single barrel selection program, offering valued retail customers the opportunity to select and purchase their own barrel of Knob Creek’s award-winning rye whiskey, bottled at 115 proof and aged between five and six-and-a-half years.

Knob Creek® Cask Strength Rye Whiskey amplifies our signature rye whiskey with its big, full and spicy rye flavor. It was bottled with the following characteristics:

• Age: 9 years
• Proof: 119.6
• Color: Golden amber
• Taste: Very flavorful, with a blend of dill and clove, fading into sweet baking spice with slight charred oak flavor
• Aroma: Blend of dill, spice and honey with essences of charred oak
• Finish: Light on the tongue that lingers of warm baking spices and ends with a Kentucky Hug to remind you of its cask strength
