It isn’t BOURBON in the bottle…Bourbon Institute Ad
Here’s a great promotional ad from the Bourbon Institute in 1959. This is but one of many in a series of advertisements the Institute put out to promote Bourbon to the masses. In 1973 The Bourbon Institute merged with the Distilled Spirits Institute and the Licensed Beverage Industries, Inc. to form the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS).
I like how the advertisement has the buy checking the bottle after he already has a glass of whiskey in his hand. It’s like he doesn’t believe what he’s drinking is Bourbon. Does anybody have an idea of what Bourbon is featured in the ad?
