Today I’m excited to announce a new project I’m undertaking here at Bourbon & Banter. I’m calling it Bourbon Across America. The project’s goal is to explore how people across the country are experiencing bourbon in their daily lives, both personally and professionally. As part of the exploration, I plan on featuring bourbon bars across the country as well as photos and stories by bourbon lovers themselves.
Bourbon is America’s spirit, and I’m looking forward to what a closer look at it will show us about ourselves. I hope that you’ll enjoy the journey and get involved as we set off to explore Bourbon Across America.
To make this journey a success, I’m hoping that many of you will get involved to help shape the path we take as we explore bourbon’s role in everyday American life. I’ll continue to roll out details over the next few months, but there are a few things you can do right now to help out and get involved. Here they are:
1) Send us the name and address of your favorite bourbon establishment. We’re looking to compile a list of bourbon joints to reach out to and interview as part of our project. Please include why you feel we should consider the place for our project and if at all possible send us the URL of the bar if they have a website.
2) Send us a photo of your favorite bottle of bourbon with a recognizable landmark in the photo to show us where you live. The above photo is an example of what we’re looking for right now. Unfortunately I couldn’t move the building out of the way to see more of the Gateway Arch but I think you get the idea. We’ll post and share these photos as we get them.
3) Submit your name to be featured in our monthly Bourbon & Banter Member Spotlight. Where else can you get 15 minutes of bourbon fame and not be thrown in jail?
4) Let us know if there’s anything else you’d like us to feature or talk about on the blog. Is there a bourbon you’ve always wanted to know about or a distiller that you’d like to ask a question of? Fire away your questions and thoughts and we’ll do our best to make sure they are acted upon.
Please send your emails regarding Bourbon Across America to the following email:

Thank you in advance for your contributions and input on the project. I’m thrilled to be finally kicking this off, and I look forward to a most excellent journey with all of my bourbon-loving friends.
