An Old Fashion Mystery
I was contacted today by a woman researching some Old Fashion glasses she recently bought. She’s trying to discover the origin of the glasses that seem to tell the story of the Old Fashion drink recipe.
I was contacted today by a woman researching some Old Fashion glasses she recently bought. She’s trying to discover the origin of the glasses that seem to tell the story of the Old Fashion drink recipe. Here’s what she had to say about the glasses and her quest for their origin.
“Each glass sports a different image of a bearded, mustachioed man (sort of a Kentucky Colonel-type person) carrying a sugar cube, an orange slice, a jigger, etc., and finally carrying a tray with two drinks. I’ve never seen anything like these glasses before and think they might have been a promotional item from a distillery. I’m wondering if your readers might be able to identify them?
The glasses are just under 4 1/2 inches tall, and just under 3 3/4 inches across the top. They’re big!”
So I’m sharing this with all of you hoping that someone can identify where these glasses come from and if they are from a distillery. If you have some details to share, please do so in the comments on this post. Thanks in advance for your help!
And thanks to our reader who was kind enough to request our assistance and share these wonderful glasses with us today.
